Pastoral Services
HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY: Our Pastoral team works both on a schedule and On Call at local and VA hospitals
PRISON MINISTRY: Approved by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC), Ark volunteers are trained and certified to work with inmates while inside and in the pre-release and work or re-entry centers of the state’s prison system. Our prison ministry team includes licensed ministers, certified DOC volunteers and qualified advisors and mentors. Ark volunteers provide worship and prayer services inside prison facilities. On the outside, we provide re-entry support via relationship and spiritual counseling, job mentoring, and various trainings (Anger Management / Domestic Violence Prevention (link), Ending Co-Dependency (link) and others—see Life Management Skills Trainings (link)). Many training programs are offered for the men and women who are ex-offenders to meet court-ordered release mandates. Services before release or parole are scheduled by the minimum-to-maximum security facility chaplains & volunteer coordinators. Services after release are scheduled by ex-offenders themselves or their parole officers.
WEDDINGS: A licensed, ordained minister can be scheduled to perform marriage ceremonies in our Chapel or your local location. To schedule a ceremony, a valid marriage license must be presented with documentation from a pastor or other marital counselor verifying that the participants have completed pre-marital counseling. The Ark does not provide witnesses, music, food or beverage, décor (other than that which is already in the Chapel), or any other wedding ceremony or reception accessories or services. There is no charge for the pastor to perform marriage ceremonies in our on-site chapel; however, a donation to cover travel/mileage expenses is requested for ceremonies held elsewhere.
FUNERALS: A licensed, ordained minister can be scheduled to deliver funeral or memorial messages. To schedule a ceremony, a valid death certificate and obituary or other document summarizing the biography of the deceased must be presented. There is no charge for the pastor to perform memorial ceremonies in our on-site chapel; however, a donation to cover travel/mileage expenses is requested for ceremonies held elsewhere.
SPIRITUAL COUNSELING: A licensed, ordained minister and trained advisor can be scheduled for advice or counsel to work through spiritual issues with individuals, couples or families.
