Ark Restoration Progress Report

A message from Ark Founder Sally Weiesnbach:

We continue working on the restoration of the buildings that house the Ark of Faith. There have been setbacks as we complete one project, only to have Spring storms do more and different damage. Insurance from the March 7 fire is paid only in small increments.  See our latest progress and needs.

Ark Restoration Progress Report

A message from Ark Founder Sally Weiesnbach:

We continue working on restoration of the buildings that house the Ark of Faith. There have been setbacks as we complete one project, only to have Spring storms do more and different damage. Insurance from the March 7 fire is paid only in small increments. Much must be done to 1) protect our original and interim structures from weather and vandalism, and 2) prepare the interim location to function as an Ark “lifeboat” while restoring the main structure.

But God gives us victory! After recent storms, there is more damage at the 401 E Broadway original location and the interim location at 429 E. Broadway. The Ark board, staff, community members, and our homeless participants are working at both locations.

Ark Restoration Progress Report

FIRE, FLOOD, WIND, and RAIN!

Restoring the Ark at 401 E Broadway from the March 7 fire continues with complications. Insurance helps but much must be done and the claims pay out in small increments. Many needs are still being discovered – like the leaking glass ceiling and stained glass windows in the chapel.

Right now, we’re being told to stay out of the chapel. At the right time, we’ll be able to refinish and refurnish it. After recent storms, the Ark basement flooded again. In addition, the interim location at 429 E. Broadway lost part of its roof from the heavy winds, so we have had to delay moving in and operating there while we repair wind and water damage from that storm.

The Ark board is overseeing workers and volunteers at both locations. They work long hours to finish what they start and keep the buildings safe. People who are homeless are volunteering also to work with us. There is a constant need for trash to be put in dumpsters and hauled away, home repair-type skills, finances… Together in His love we all are maturing and you humble us with your generosity.

Help insure a safe Ark

We are still seeking funding and in-kind donations to make our fireplaces safe!

Insurance requires additional measures for the Ark this year.

You can help us comply with these new requirements to close off the fireplaces in our 101-year-old building. If you can donate materials, supplies or services , please call 918-682-8411.

You can also make a tax-deductible donation online via PayPal.

Thanks for helping us keep The Ark safe and warm!

Thank You for Your Generous Donations

Thanks to you who answered God’s call for Ark needs in February: There was an anonymous donation of new fixtures for the two bathrooms in the Lifeboat (interim Ark) and all have been installed by our work crews. Boulevard Christian Church has renewed their long-term commitment to handle our newsletter mailing labels, and the church and the Ministerial Alliance are both much appreciated for hiring … [Read More...]
